ABOUT US
KHōNA Fitness & Wellness was founded out of a mission to BIPOC and LGBTQIA communities in the Atlanta area and worldwide to strengthen our connections and sense of self through the shared experience of yoga. We design and curate spaces for people to come together and be inspired through the curious exploration of intentional movement, diverse creative expression, and the immersive experience of sound healing.

“Khona” in the African Zulu language translates to “there” or “at that place.” It is a refreshing take on how to view yourself in your fitness journey. You are already your most ideal self in the ability to move freely, you are empowered by the capability to overcome your challenges. The beauty is in the process and the process starts wherever you are. KHōNA is a nod to my ancestor’s past and a solution to our present obstacles, a vision of an ideal future. Shelby’s mission is to create safe and inspiring spaces for people to move together in harmony, for a sweaty, life-altering experience. She welcomes you on the journey.
